Saint-Gobain Technical Academy Presents' Gets Practical About Sustainable Housing

As part of our series of ‘Get Practical about...’ seminars, the Saint-Gobain Technical Academy are delighted to announce that we holding our next event in Limerick in support of World Green Building Week 2018.  Our upcoming, free to attend, ‘Get Practical about Sustainable Housing’ event which will take place in Greenhills Hotel, Limerick on Tuesday 25th September 2018. 

This year’s World Green Building week aims to motivate and empower us all to deliver greener and healthier buildings. Get Practical about Sustainable Housing will see expert industry guest speakers present on achieving these aims of building new and maintaining existing residential housing to higher sustainable standards.

Speakers

Jason Horrex

Jason has over 10 years’ experience providing comprehensive technical support and advice to the construction industry and is now currently the Saint-Gobain Technical Academy Training Manager developing and providing training to industry professionals to promote best practice from specification to site.

Pat Barry

Pat Barry is Chief Executive Officer of the Irish Green Building Council which he co-founded in 2010. He is an Architect with over 20 years of experience in Ireland, Europe and South America, a Masters in Environmental design of buildings from University of Cardiff and is a qualified Passive House and DGNB consultant.

Elisabeth O’Brien

Lis O’Brien is a Chartered Architect and Sustainable Energy Engineer. She managed an architectural practice for over 17 years before becoming the Project Support Officer for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Building Research and Development at the Development Unit.  Lis is participating and coordinating various large-scale research and development EU funded projects such as QualiBuild, A2PBEER, Train-to-nZEB and VET4LEC carrying out research and reports using her extensive experience in nZEB/sustainable design and project management within the construction sector.

Paul Kenny         

Paul is the Chief Executive Officer of Tipperary Energy Agency. He has been with the agency since 2006 and Chief Executive since 2012. He is involved with both renewable energy (wind and bio-energy) and energy efficiency projects. Paul is a consultant to the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, the European Commission and other utilities. Paul has spoken at a number of high profile conferences in Ireland and Europe on sustainable energy and was named as one of the top 20 influencers’ who will shape our response to climate change.
